Bees Involved from wasps when one species of wasp began to feed its young plant pollen instead of other insects
Over time, the first bee species evolved into many species and forged a major partnership with the flowering plants
Most bees are solitary but a few species have evolved very complex social behaviour
Bees feed on protein-rich pollen supplemented by energy rich nectar also from flowers
Adult female bees have an array of body structures to help them carry pollen back to the nest.
Young bees, called larvae, are grubs that live concealed in the nest
